Fletcher Parks and Recreation
Phase 1 of the Hoopers Creek Greenway was finished in the Spring
of 2004 with the opening of the Greenway Bridge as well as a 1/4
mile trail that runs along Hooper's Creek.
The bridge and trail was built with grants from NC Department of
Transportation-TEA-21 Fund, Recreational Trails Program,
Community Foundation of Henderson County, Partnership for Health
and the Pigeon River Fund.

The land for the Hoopers Creek Trail was donated by Blue Ridge
Metals and we appreciate their willingness to be a part of this great
community project.

However in the fall of 2004 Hurricanes Ivan & Frances brought
flooding to Fletcher Community Park and our new greenway bridge
was unaccessible and was nearly washed out!  With help from FEMA
we were able to fix the bridge and stabilize the area and we
re-opened this area in 2005.

Come out and walk our trails and get a great workout!
Hoopers Creek Greenway
Both the Cane Creek & Hoopers Creek
Greenway is accessible from Fletcher
Community  Park.  The greenways are
located at the Northeast section of the
park near Cane Creek.
